There was a very festive atmosphere at the centre as Christmas cheer took over. Staff and learners were greeted with the traditional punch made from spices and fresh fruit.  Then for the first half of the festive quiz - questions about; Star, Harry Potter, Lego and 3 legged races.  At 10.45 the food arrived - all sorts of pizzas, quiche, mince pies and cream followed by the teas and coffees. Then back for more questions -voices and songs in the mix this time; Terry Wogan, JK Rowling, Bob Dylan and Kim Kardashian. The winners were rewarded with the usual scratch card prizes.  There was an exchange of good wishes before departing to do the last bit of Christmas shopping.

1916 commemoration Bríd O'Connor, our History teacher, and some of the VTOS students unveiled their project to commemorate the events of 1916.
The 16 men executed after the Rising are in sequence on doors 1 - 16 on the premises, starting with Thomas McDonagh, finishing with Roger Casement the last man to be executed.

tralee wetlands outingLast Wedensday Tralee VTOS students visited the Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre. We would like to thank Dolores, Eoin and Dave who escorted us in the Nature Zone where we visited the interactive exhibition, we had a guided nature boat tour, we climbed the tower (but some took the lift!!) followed by a walk on the nature board.
After all that activity we had a beautiful lunch in the Lakeside Bistro thanks to Dave and his team.
